Introduction：

Biapenem is a carbon penicillin antibiotic for injection use. It has a broad antibacterial spectrum and has good bactericidal effect to gram-negative, gram-positive, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. The structure has one 1β- methyl in C1 position and this group enables the drug is stable to dehydropeptidase I (DHP-I) in human kidney; it can be used without combination of DHP-I inhibitor, in order to reduce its renal toxicity; furthermore, it’s stable with β- lactamase. It has excellent pharmacokinetic properties and low toxicity. The effects are very good in treatment of concurrent abdominal infections, orthopedic infections, gynecological infections, ENT infections, lower respiratory tract infections (including bacterial pneumonia) and concurrent urinary tract infections. Other advantages include well tolerance and low adverse reactions.
